Eventually, after nagging by my neighbour, I played him at the game. We used the first edition rules.

The Start:

Me, my neighbour and my sister played this game. I was going to play the people in game 1 plus two others, but we never got it going. So I got others to play.

F1: (Me) I chose Germany again. I won with it last time, so naturally I believe I can do it again.

F2: My neighbour went for the United Kingdom. Obviously he didn't read game 1 and is a foolish nationalist. I tried to make it better by giving him Gibraltar.

F3: Poland. Just to annoy me and be silly.

Play:

Turn 1: I took everything I could from Spain to Italy with my territory going as far as Slovakia. At this point I felt smug. F2 followed F3 in the last game, and took Iceland and Ireland. But this person captured Portugal and proceded to bombard Spain. My lot of tanks there were destroyed. He betrayed my trust. B*stard. F3 went completely mad and took huge amounts of land from southern Russia to Hungary, including Finland.

At the end of the turn, me and F3 rivalled each other in power, and I was at war with F2.

The first thing I did on my next turn was to properly declare war on F2, unlike his cowardly move. Then I sunk his fleet in the North Sea. seemed fair, after what he did to Spain. I continued my capturing spree, thinking that if I outproduce him I can eventually beat him. More tanks and infantry were brought off my German-Polish border to defend Spain.

F2 simply bombed Spain with ships then captured it with tanks built in Gibraltar. I was irritated that I could let him capture it so successfully.

F3 Got as far as Norway through Russia, and Bulgaria. At this point both Me and F2 went 'eep' as F3 was producing as much resources as both of us combined. My homeland was next to F3's, so I was very worried.

When the map was redrawn for the third turn, I noticed F3 had 12 tanks, 9 of which were next to me in Poland. I hastily stopped fighting F2 and promptly attacked the Poles. I successfully took out the tank in Bulgaria with my Serb tank. Next, 4 of my lovely tanks invaded Poland. 2 Fortified infantry were taken out, as well as a tank. Also, one of my ships were diverted from the North Sea to control the Polish sea. It succeeded in sinking one ship, but another remains.

F2 ceased his attack at me in exchange for resouces and land from F3. He landed in Norway with a largish force and that is where the game now stands.
