Modern and classic rock, hard rock, and heavy metal reviews by Trevor John Evens.

Here are some expert album reviews from a true rock fan in his last year of high school. A fan tormented by the inanity of modern radio. A fan who's sole purpose in life is to guide you to that one special song that makes your day, and to shield your eyes from the ceaseless volleys of garbage being tossed at you left and right from the friendly neighborhood record companies.

Yet, in the end, remember, it's your choice, and these are only my opinions. So if you listen to me, more power to you, and if I just destroyed your favorite band, then relax, go get some therapy, and realize that you like 'em, so more power to you anyway (who cares what I think!). Basically, it's a win-win situation.

No praise is too high, no insult is too low. The rock universe is a crowded, polluted heap of garbage. Allow me to show you around.

Happy new year. With the new year I resolve to update this site more often. I've been buying albums more and more lately since the holidays, so I have quite a list to go through now. I took off Toxicity until I review the rest of this list (takes a load off my back you know). I just added Chevelle since I had the opportunity to listen to the album from a friend, and I removed Course Of Nature since I now feel I didn't listen to it enough to actually judge the album correctly (I will listen to it again eventually). More to come soon, promise. Also, keep telling friends (and enemies) about this place. It would be nice to have more hits. Use the banner in the link above (I'm working on the compression, and to be honest, that banner is huge (kilobyte-wise) and I need to find a good way to shrink it down, so until then, just use plain text linkage unless you don't mind).

Okay, major revamp. I decided I don't need all of that pretentious scenery crowding my webpage. So, here you go, this is what you care about. The reviews. And that's what I'm bringing you. I've also touched up and edited many of my past reviews, mainly removing some wordy language (I felt I was being a bit pretentious) and various embarrasing grammar mistakes. And, last but not least, I've switched over to a scale of 0 to 5 instead of 0 to 10, because, for one I figured many of the numbers on that scale were superfluous anyway, and also I feel that this will help me rate more effectively. Besides, it's not about the rating, it's the review that counts. And, hey, that doesn't even matter either, because it's what you think about it yourself. Wow, I hate critics.
